New perspectives on an “old” technique: Lipari obsidian and Neolithic communities investigated by Fission Track Dating

Abstract “Lipari obsidian and Neolithic human communities in the Aeolian islands” is a project aimed at studying connection between flows on island of Lipari populations archipelago, Italy. As it well known, particular interest to trace prehistorical trading patterns; indeed, has widest distribution been found southern France, Dalmazia, Sicily mainland The outputs will give general vision both archaeological volcanological aspects through stratigraphic radiometric dating eruptions which produced obsidian, relationship with first phases settlements row material exploitation. To reach this goal, we are considering raw materials (geological samples) from different artefacts (archaeological islands, performing fission-track get age sources artefacts.
